Alien Ramirez was born in the city of Bayamo, Cuba. Her interest in the art of dancing started at a very early age. Since she was 4 years old, she never stopped dancing.
Alien started her professional dance training at the EIA (Escuela de Instructores de Arte, Cuba) where she developed her skills in several different types of dances. Some of these styles include ballet, contemporary, jazz, modern, flamenco, Cuban folklore and, of course, all Latin styles and Afro-Cuban as well as gymnastics.
Not only she trained as a dancer but also she graduated as a trained instructor.
After graduating, she worked at the Olga Alonso Dance Studio in Cuba teaching Latin dance and Afro-Cuban styles.
She won the World Salsa Federation Championship 2004 in two different divisions. Also she won the World Salsa Casino Style Championship in Miami in 2004.
At the age of twenty one, she moved to Los Angeles, CA. She has since worked and partnered with many top professionals in Los Angeles such as Alex Da Silva, Cristian Oviedo, Rodrigo Guzman, Grizzly Hidriago and many others.
Alien, in her career as a dancer, she has worked as a dancer for several television shows, video clips, TV commercials and as an assistant choreographer for the TV shows "So You Think You Can Dance" (2005 to 2008). In addition, she teaches and conducts workshops in recognized night clubs such as The Mayan, Mama Juanas, Tapas, Cocomo (San Francisco). She has also traveled around the world teaching and performing in Mexico, Germany, Costa Rica, Colombia, Japan, Austria, Guatemala, Germany, Morocco and many more.

"John & Liz-Salsa Intense Wkshop in Seattle - Back by demand!

John Narvaez & Liz Rojas of Salsamania Dance Company, they are coming to you from San Francisco CA once to twice a week for 2 Month of Intense Workshop Program.

We are seeking individuals who are looking to take their dancing to the next level
-This special Salsa Intense Workshop is for students that are level 3 and above ONLY. (Level 3 = intermediate level or getting close to it)
-As John mention on his last visit, he only touched 1/4 of what he has to offer, there will be some reviews of previous program for some new students, mostly it would be all new extended materials.

Salsamania Dance Company currenly consists of two training teams (On 1 and On 2), four performance teams and over 80 members from 16 countries.
Salsamania dancers follow a structured dance education program allowing them to move through several levels while focusing on core values such as teamwork, professionalism, competition and grace. At the culmination of this training, skilled dancers who wish to perform may be invited to join one of our performance teams who compete and perform throughout the US and abroad.
John and Liz have honed teaching techniques that focus on the fundamentals—timing, technique, musicality, style and music history—enabling students to learn and progress rapidly. John and Liz, as well as other advanced members of Salsamania Dance Company, use these methods to teach over 400 beginner and intermediate students per week in community centers, night clubs, and dance studios throughout the Bay Area.

Group classes are 3 hrs every each day as follows:

Saturday March 17th 12pm-3:15pm w/John

Cost:
$400 prepay in advance, $450 after Feb. 6th. Payment date starts after we have 35 students RSVP. Once again space are limited to 40, please do your best to reserve your spot in advance.
Basic guidelines:
-We can credit you if have to missed some classes, but it has to requested before registering, vs after it had started, classes transfers to random students will not permitted.

??? Questions when Registering ???
Registering online:
We accept online payment only up to the day before class starts. Please note that there is a Paypal fee of 3% when you register online. If you are registering on the day of the class, please call regarding openings and we ask that you come in 5 mins early to register. Check or cash only please.
Credit/Refunds:
*With out a 24 hour notice, there are NO refunds on prepaid missed workshops.
6 weeks series group classes, with out a 24 hours notice of cancellation, there will be a $10 processing fee.
Canceling after teken 1-2 classes or missed first or second class of the 5 weeks series, there are no refunds, but
you do have an option having a $35 credit towards another full series, balance of $30 would be due the first day of new series, *All credit expires after 90 days from the date the student originally signed up.
If you have to miss one of our (salsa) 6 week classes, please call and ask to see if we can fit you in for a makeup class, private lesson at a additional cost is also an option. (Sorry, this option is not available for Advance level students).
What does 1 & 2-3 means for salsa?
If you are a brand new student to salsa, you would be in Beginner level 1.
Students who have taken salsa lessons else where and very comfortable with "Cross Body Lead", you should be in our beginner level "2-3." If you are not sure please feel free to call us at: 206.930.7246 ask for Jim
Intermediate 1 means "partnering only," this is where we go a bit slower and spend more time on techniques.
Intermediate 2 & Advance level is where we'll be offer 15 mins of ladies styling and men shines before our partnering. (All Intermediate level 1 or 2 and Advance Level must have instructors approval to join.)
Shoes: Be sure to wear dance shoes or shoes that don't have too much traction on their soles, as this will allow you to spin more easily. Ladies, heel and ankle support is a plus. From our local dance shoes stores, 10% discount off is offer to all of our students that are taken classes with us.
Instructors Rehearsal/private lesson rental:
Hourly rental fee must be paid with in no later then 24 hrs in advance (only upon availability). 50% refundable if cancel less then 12 hrs notice on day of.
