Hello Belltown Dance Studio Students and friends,
I have some bittersweet news to share. First, I want to express my extreme gratitude to everyone who has allowed me to play a small part of our dance community for the last 17 years. I am super proud of building a very successful business with your support; special thanks to all our students, the instructors who taught with Belltown Dance Studio, and everyone dancing at our socials. Thank you for allowing me to live my dream!
As Belltown Dance Studio we hired some of the best instructors to teach many styles of dance: salsa, bachata, west coast swing, belly dance, Argentine tango, dance fitness, hip hop, heels. With amazing talent we were able build some of the strongest dance teams I’ve seen in our community; this is something I am deeply proud of and will treasure.
Good, bad, or indifferent, during the course of the COVID I’ve noticed so many changes; personally I had time to do some self-care and reflect on what is most important. I have spent close to a year seeking that perfect new space for BDS to be reborn, only to realize there are reasons why I was not able to find it, and a new path I’m supposed to take. That said, at this time I’ve decided to put a hold on reopening. Please trust that this is one of the most difficult decisions I’ve ever made. (Don’t worry, I will still teach Salsa part-time. You can always call me for a private lesson and I’ll come to you.)
I will continue hosting my Salsa and Bachata on Alki Beach events this summer, and look for announcements about upcoming projects. I can’t wait to bring more unique dance events to Seattle for at least 17 more years. If or when the right studio space comes along, I will reconsider a new location down the road, but for now, I’m onto my next chapter.
I look forward to see you on the dance floor!
